CHEP 11th Anniversary
The Centre for Happy Elderly People (CHEP) is set to celebrate its 11th anniversary this October. CHEP is set up as an old peoples home in Lagos to provide essential geriatric services in a conducive environment for the aged. With so many hospitals, day care centres, orthopedic homes and several children’s hospitals, Lagos is clearly lacking old peoples homes.
This need prompted our director and matron, Deaconess Lilian Jiringho to start up the Centre for Happy Elderly People about 11 years ago. Over the years our anniversary celebrations have been held to coincide with the World Old Peoples Day Celebration which holds yearly on October 1. As we prepare to commemorate this year’s World Old Peoples Day in Nigeria and celebrate our 11th year anniversary, we at CHEP can look back at our motivations as they remain unshaken and then look forward to our future as our resolve remains to providing a decent home for old people in Lagos, staffed with competent professionals and a cozy environment.
We will announce the venue and activities to mark this anniversary celebration as the day approaches.
